Unit 1: Bookkeeping Transactions
This unit in the level 2 AAT will guide you through the fundamentals of double-entry bookkeeping and the related systems and procedures. Students will use various accounting books; they are the prime entry ledger to practice and record financial booklets.
You will go through the following sections also.
Understand the Principles of Processing Financial Transactions, Process Ledger Transactions and Extract the Trial Balance, Maintain Petty Cash Records, Understand the Double Entry Bookkeeping System, Maintain the Cash Book, Understand about the Discounts, Process Supplier Invoices & Credit Notes and Calculate Payments, Prepare and process financial documentation for customers.
Unit 2: Bookkeeping Control
In this section, you will cover the purpose of journal and control accounts, settle balances and apply modifications, and rework the trial balance if necessary. The banking system will also be learned in this section. You will learn the following topics also.
Understand the purpose & use of control accounts and journals, Understand retention and storage requirements relating to banking documents, Maintain and use control accounts, Process supplier invoices and credit notes and calculate payments, Maintain and use the journal, Process supplier invoices and credit notes and calculate fees, Reconcile a bank statement with the cash book.
Unit 3: Elements Of Costing
n this unit, you will learn how to use cost record systems and formulate the information related to income & expenditure. Once you have experienced this topic, you can then create comparisons and identify any inconsistencies or differences between predictable and actual figures. You can communicate this information using a worksheet.
The three sections in this unit include the understanding about the cost system within an organization, use the cost recording system to record or extract data, use spreadsheets to provide information on actual and budgeted income and expenditure.
Unit 4: Using Accounting Software
This unit will lead you to accounting software, managing you through software systems to enter transactions, conduct settlements, address mistakes and make reports.
In this section, you will understand how we can enter accounting data starting from an accounting period, record Supplier Transactions, record and reconcile bank and cash transactions.
You will also learn how to record customer transactions, use journals to enter accounting transactions, Maintain the safety & security of data held in the computerized accounting system, and produce the report.
Unit 5: Work Effectively In Finance
As a skills-based unit, you will study using your existing learning and numeracy abilities to work efficiently in an accounting role. You will also explore how to manage your time to maximize output.

In the AAT level 2 Qualifications, students will be given a final grade. AAT level 2 syllabus is covered and accessed through computer-based assessment.

Merit: 80-90 %
Pass: 70-79 %
Unclassified: 0- 69 % (more assessment required)

What are the restrictions For Re-Sit?
UK students between 16-19 years who are learning any of the AAT qualifications stated below will be limited in the number of resits.
