Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement | FCT Training & Recruitment Ltd

Modern Slavery Statement

Introduction

Future Connect Training & Recruitment Ltd (“FCT”, “we”, “our”) is fully committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in every part of our business and supply chain.

This statement is made in accordance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps we take each year to identify, assess, and mitigate risks of modern slavery within our organisation and through our partners.

Our values — integrity, respect, inclusion, and accountability — guide all our actions. We aim to ensure that all learners, employees, and partners are treated fairly and ethically.

Our Structure, Business & Supply Chains

FCT Training & Recruitment Ltd operates across the UK, delivering high-quality education, employability, and apprenticeship training.

Our activities include:

  • Vocational training and skills development
  • Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT
  • Apprenticeship delivery and recruitment support
  • Employer partnerships and workforce upskilling

Our supply chain consists of learning resource providers, IT vendors, subcontracted trainers, awarding organisations, and other professional service partners.

We recognise that, while our operations are largely low-risk, we must remain vigilant to potential risks of modern slavery, particularly within outsourced services and extended supplier networks.

Our Policies on Modern Slavery and Ethical Conduct

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking.
Our policies ensure compliance and ethical behaviour throughout our business:

  • Anti-Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy
  • Supplier Code of Conduct
  • Safeguarding & Whistleblowing Policy
  • Recruitment & Employment Policy

These policies are accessible to all staff, reviewed annually, and integrated into our wider governance framework.

Risk Assessment & Management

We regularly review potential modern slavery risks across:

  • Recruitment and employment practices
  • Subcontracting and partnership arrangements
  • Procurement of resources, technology, and services

Our annual risk assessment helps identify high-risk areas (such as temporary labour providers or outsourced services).
Where a risk is identified, we take immediate action, which may include supplier engagement, additional checks, or termination of contracts.

Due Diligence in Our Operations and Supply Chain

We conduct due diligence on all new and existing suppliers by:

  • Verifying compliance with the Modern Slavery Act
  • Requesting confirmation of ethical employment practices
  • Including anti-slavery clauses in supplier contracts
  • Periodically reviewing supplier performance and audit results

For subcontracted training partners, we require full transparency of their recruitment, employment, and learner safeguarding practices.

Training & Awareness

All FCT employees and delivery partners receive training to recognise and report potential signs of modern slavery or exploitation.
This includes:

  • Awareness sessions during staff induction and annual compliance refreshers
  • Access to resources and reporting procedures
  • Designated safeguarding and compliance leads to manage concerns confidentially

We encourage a speak-up culture where staff feel safe to report issues through our whistleblowing channels.

Reporting Concerns

Any employee, learner, supplier, or partner can report a concern related to modern slavery via:

  • Email: compliance@fctraining.org
  • Phone: 0203 790 8674
  • In person: through your designated FCT safeguarding officer

All reports are investigated promptly and sensitively.
We commit to supporting victims and taking corrective action wherever required.

Measuring Effectiveness & KPIs

To monitor our progress, FCT uses the following key performance indicators (KPIs):

  • 100% of suppliers confirmed compliance with the Modern Slavery Act
  • 100% of employees completed annual modern slavery training
  • Zero identified incidents of forced or trafficked labour within our operations
  • Regular board review of our compliance and improvement measures

Continuous Improvement

We are committed to strengthening our processes year after year.
Our next steps include:

  • Enhanced supplier auditing for higher-risk categories
  • Regular staff refresher training and updated resources
  • Expanding collaboration with industry partners to share good practice
