Overview
The AAT Level 4 Tax Basics Bootcamp is a 16-week, advanced training programme designed for individuals who want to build specialist knowledge in personal and business taxation. Delivered by Future Connect Training and funded by the Department for Education and Hull City Council, this Skills Bootcamp covers two AAT Level 4 units: Personal Tax and Business Tax.
The programme blends technical tax knowledge with practical software training (Excel, Sage, QuickBooks) and career preparation. It has been co-designed with Hull employers and endorsed by professional bodies including the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA).
Who is it for?
Learners aged 19+ with prior AAT Level 2/3 knowledge or equivalent experience
Bookkeepers or finance professionals looking to progress into tax roles
Graduates or career changers aiming to enter the tax and compliance field
SME staff seeking to build internal tax expertise (cofunded places available)
Course Duration & Delivery
Duration: 16 Weeks
Format: Blended – live online teaching with in-person assessments and employer panels at our Hull HU3 training hub
Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 100
Sessions per week: 2 x 3.25hr sessions (6.5 GLH)
Curriculum Plan
Specialise in Personal and Business Tax, including calculations and compliance.
Understand HMRC systems, VAT schemes, and tax ethics.
Use Excel to automate tax reports and complete real-world scenarios
Aimed at learners progressing from Level 3 into specialist tax careers.
